A Heartbreaking Discovery: Dog Found with Multiple Gunshot Wounds

A few years ago, Hayden Howard’s life took a dramatic turn when she discovered that her beloved English Mastiff, Jackson, had been brutally shot multiple times. What initially appeared to be bug bites turned out to be a horrific reality.

Hayden was shocked and devastated when she realized that Jackson had been shot. She immediately rushed him to the veterinarian, who found a staggering number of small bullets fired from a BB pistol. The veterinarian had to shave Jackson’s fur to remove the plastic shells, extracting 27 bullets and leaving 20 others embedded in his body.

The sheer brutality of the attack left everyone involved in shock. Assistant Chief Craig Hayes of the Seymour Police Department described it as “a very bad case” and “sad to see.” The police launched an investigation, tracing the gunfire to a neighboring yard.

A search of the neighbor’s house uncovered a rifle, ammunition, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, along with a BB pistol and pellets. Hayden hopes that the perpetrator will face severe consequences for their heinous actions.

Despite the trauma he endured, Jackson is healing well. The incident highlights the importance of treating crimes committed with pellet or BB guns as seriously as those committed with any other firearm. These weapons can cause significant harm, and those who use them to harm innocent animals or people must face justice.
