“A Funny Science Lesson: Mrs. Parks’ Unusual Question
Mrs. Parks, a sixth-grade science teacher, asked her students a question that left them all confused. ‘Which human body part increases to ten times its size when stimulated?’ she asked with a twinkle in her eye.
The students looked at each other, unsure of what to say. One student, Mary, thought the question was inappropriate and threatened to tell her parents. But Mrs. Parks patiently repeated the question, encouraging the students to think.
Finally, a shy student named Billy answered correctly: ‘The pupil of the eye.’ The class breathed a collective sigh of relief, and Mrs. Parks praised Billy for his correct answer.
But Mrs. Parks also had a few words for Mary, who had jumped to conclusions. ‘You have a dirty mind,’ she said with a smile. ‘You didn’t read your homework. And one day, you’ll be very, very disappointed.’ The class erupted in laughter, and the tension was broken.”
