Edith’s world was shattered when her mother passed away due to a lung infection. She was devastated, and her husband, John, was by her side – but not for long. As Edith began making arrangements for the funeral, she told John that they would need to cancel their upcoming vacation to Hawaii.
John’s response was shocking. He complained that their tickets were non-refundable and that they would be wasting thousands of dollars. Edith was stunned, “John, my mother just died,” she reminded him. But John showed no empathy, claiming that he wasn’t good with emotional situations and that nobody would miss him at the funeral.
Edith was appalled by John’s heartlessness. He left for their vacation a day before the funeral, leaving Edith to grieve alone. To add insult to injury, John shared pictures from his trip on social media, living it up while Edith was mourning her loss.
Edith had had enough. She decided to take drastic action and contacted her realtor friend to list their house for sale – including John’s prized car. When John returned two days later, he was shocked to find people checking out his car.
As John yelled at Edith, she delivered a devastating blow: “After all, I’m just your wife. Not family, remember?” She handed him divorce papers, and John was left reeling. In the end, Edith took everything – the car, the house – leaving John with nothing.
John’s heartless behavior had led to his own downfall. His lack of empathy and selfishness had cost him the love and respect of his wife. As Edith moved on with her life, John was left to pick up the pieces of his shattered world.
