A young mother of two from South Carolina has sparked a heated debate on social media after revealing her unorthodox method of keeping track of her children. Vada Stevens, a 24-year-old mom, took to TikTok to share a video showcasing her unique approach, which involves using Apple AirTags and training her daughters to respond to a beeping noise.
In the now-deleted video, Vada demonstrated how she uses the AirTags, which can be tracked and made to emit a beeping noise, to keep tabs on her daughters, Stella, 4, and Serena, 2. She also showed how she has trained them to come to her when they hear the beeping noise, likening the process to “dog training.”

The video quickly went viral, amassing over a million views and sparking a flurry of comments. While some viewers praised Vada’s creative approach to keeping her children safe, many others were outraged, criticizing her for treating her kids like animals and invading their privacy.
Despite the backlash, Vada remains unapologetic about her methods. In an interview with Today, she explained that as a homeschooling mom, she needs to be able to keep track of her daughters when they’re not with her. She also expressed her concerns about safety, citing the risks of children getting lost in crowded areas.

Vada’s approach may be unorthodox, but she’s adamant that it’s necessary to ensure her children’s safety. As she puts it, “In this day and age, you can’t ever be too protective.” While opinions about her methods may be divided, one thing is clear: Vada is a devoted mother who will stop at nothing to keep her children safe.
