As a builder, I’ve had enough of entitled clients sending strongly worded emails about their new builds. It’s time to flip the script and offer a reality check.
Have you ever stopped to consider the builder’s perspective? We take on more work than we can handle, juggling multiple projects and tight deadlines. Yet, you only focus on your own frustrations.
Instead of threatening to involve lawyers, how about showing some gratitude? We’re the ones who laid your foundation, after all. You should be thankful for that slab, no matter how delayed or imperfect it may be.
Let’s face it, your dream home might not be the architectural masterpiece you envisioned. Perhaps it’s time to reevaluate your expectations and acknowledge the value of what you have.
On the bright side, our delays have given you quality time with your in-laws. That’s priceless, right? And think of the slab as a blank canvas – host a slab party, play handball with the kids, or simply appreciate the foundation for your future home.
I’m tired of the lack of gratitude and constant complaints. You have a new slab, while others don’t even have a solid surface to call their own. Try walking in someone else’s shoes for a change.
The real issue lies with the declining interest in trade jobs among younger generations. They’re deterred by misconceptions about the construction industry.
So, instead of sending us angry emails, direct your frustration at the systemic issues. Encourage schools to promote vocational training and challenge the stereotypes surrounding the trades.
To all my fellow builders, I say: we deserve respect. And to our clients, I say: perspective is key.
If you enjoyed this unfiltered rant, consider buying me a beer. It’s been a long day of documenting the human zoo.
